The Secret To Build A Profitable Opt-in List – 3 Easy Steps To Do

The secret of success in email marketing is not building a big list, or a list with tens of thousands of subscribers. You will not be able to make money if your list subscribers don’t respond well to your call to action, no matter how many people subscribed to your list. The one thing that will make you succeed in your email marketing campaign is the value of your list. If you only have 200 list subscribers, but they are highly responsive, then chances are you are going to make more money than having a non-responsive list with 2000 subscribers. So, the secret of success in email marketing is to build a profitable opt-in list.

And this is the big one. It is not easy to build a profitable opt-in list. If it were that easy, many people will just start building a list and become rich. The problem is that not all people do that. In fact, most email marketers, especially those who are new in list building, experience failure in their attempt to make money from their list. There seems to be something that is missing in their method. Why can’t they build a list that generates consistent income for them? This is the question that not all email marketers can answer.

The missing piece in their email marketing strategy is to establish value in their email list, which makes the list more profitable for them. Here’s the secret to build a profitable email list in 3 easy steps:

           1. Build Trust With Your Subscribers

This is the first thing that you have to do, since trust is very important in building any business. People will only be willing to buy from you if they can trust you. They don’t need to listen to you if you are somebody who cannot be trusted at all. Ever wonder why spam emails get deleted? That’s because people don’t trust the emails, and more importantly, they don’t trust the sender. If you send your emails as if you are a spammer, then you shouldn’t expect more than losing your subscribers quickly.

So, you have to build trust with your subscribers first. You have to make them know about you, and more importantly, they have to look at you as an expert in your niche. Without building your expert status in the minds of your subscribers, you can’t get them to buy your products. In order to build yourself as a trustworthy expert, you have to send emails with valuable information that your subscribers will appreciate. Also, you have to write lots of informative content on your website.

           2. Give People What They Need

If people need water, and you give them rocks instead, do you think that people will pay attention to you? In marketing, especially email marketing, it is important for you to understand the demand of your audience. You are here to act as a reliable supply for their demand. In other words, you have to give your subscribers what they need, not what you want.

You have to listen to what they need most, and give it to them. This will affect the success of your product promotion. For instance, you cannot sell a weight loss supplement if you don’t understand what your audience needs. If you keep on promoting your product without having any sympathy with their condition, they will ignore you most of the time. So, you have to know what’s on their mind, what they need most, and write your emails based on what you know about your subscribers.

           3. Network With Other List Builders

This is an important step that you have to do. Yes, you can grow your list by promoting your list alone. But, with the help of other list builders, it will be easier for you to do the job. Think about networking with other list builders on your niche. Ask them to send your emails to their list. This will help you to expand your audience and grow your list. It is better for you to network with list builders that offer complementary products in your list, which means the products that don’t compete directly with your promoted products. You can also ask the list owners to swap their promotions with your list.

How to Create a Content Plan For Your Business

YOU SHOULD HAVE A CONTENT PLAN

Every entrepreneur should have a content plan. This is essentially

an outline or strategy for the kind of content you are going to create, and the rough order in which you are going to publish it.

Simply writing as much content as you can for your website may help you to gain a little traction on Google, but it won’t have the best impact possible in terms of building brand authority and awareness.

So what makes a great content plan, and how do you develop one for your own site?

           Start With Your Buyer Persona

This should start with your buyer persona. This is the fictional biography of your ideal visitor. You should know everything you can about who is reading your content, meaning that you need to understand their likes and dislikes, their hobbies, and the type of content they enjoy.

You should also have a mission statement for your brand, and an idea of the kind of person you want to appeal to.

In other words: what is your site about and who is it for? How are you going to express this through your content?

An additional tip is to now think outside of the confines you just set for yourself. Once you know who you have designed your content to appeal to most, you can begin to think about the other people it might also appeal to.For instance, if you have a fitness brand, it might also appeal to martial artists, or maybe the paleo crowd (depending on how you are presenting yourself). How can you create content that will attract those other groups?

           Types of Content

Another thing to recognize is that there are many different types of content, and each of them has important value to your brand.

           Here are just some examples:

News: If you publish news stories, you give people interested in your niche a good reason to check your site regularly. You will find it’s easier to gain exposure for your newest posts, and you may even have your content featured by Google.

Evergreen content: The downside of news posts, is that they quickly become outdated and irrelevant. Evergreen content is content designed specifically to avoid this. These posts are designed to continue to be relevant months and years from the time you post them.

Interviews: These posts have inherent interest and value to the fans of the person you are interviewing!

There are many more examples, but by combining different types of content in a plan, you can bring in all types of visitor.

3 Things You Must Never Do When Sending Email To Your List

The way you send your email will definitely affect the success rate of your email marketing campaign. Remember that you have to ensure that your subscribers stay happy with the emails that you are sending to them. You also have to ensure that your emails are not treated as spam emails that your subscribers will not want to deal with. This is because if they regard your emails as spam, they may report you to their ISP or even the government, ensuring that you are out of business.

Many people have a wrong perception about email marketing, thinking that once they’ve built a manageable list, their job is already done. No, this is not the way you do business with email marketing. Building a list is just the first step for you to earn consistent income online. Maintaining your list is another step. It involves keeping your list interested in what you are offering, and keep your unsubscription rate to a minimum. You don’t want to build a list and then lose your subscribers a few weeks later.

Thus, it is important for you to pay attention to the way you send your emails to your list. Here are 3 things that you must never do when sending email to your list:

           1. Pay Attention To Your Delivery Rate

Why should you pay attention to your delivery rate? That’s because not all emails that you send will be delivered to your subscribers’ inbox. Some percentage of your emails will not be delivered to their address due to various reasons. For instance, your subscribers may not be willing to receive further emails from you, by reporting you to their ISP. In this case, their ISP is blocking your emails from coming through. Another reason might be a technical problem on your subscribers’ end, which prevented your emails from getting delivered successfully.

You have to pay attention to the percentage of email delivery that you have, because it is important to ensure that your subscribers get your emails. The more people get your emails, the better it is for your business. If possible, you should have more than 95% delivery rate, which means that your emails are successfully delivered to 95% of your subscribers, which is good. You should delete emails that are inactive from your list.

           2. Keep An Unsubscribe Link Visible On Each Of Your Emails

Here’s something important for you to remember. You have to give your subscribers an option to unsubscribe from your list. Don’t think that because you are providing high quality content in your emails, you have the rights not to provide any unsubscribe link in your emails. This is because when you are not providing any unsubscribe link in your emails, your email will fall in the spam category. Emails that fall in the spam category usually get to the junk folder in your subscribers’ inbox. Your subscribers won’t read your emails because they are not delivered to their main inbox.

By providing an unsubscribe link, you are giving your subscribers a choice. It means that they can leave your list anytime, when they no longer want to receive your emails. When you do this, your emails will not be considered as spam, since your subscribers want to receive your emails in their inbox. It also helps you to avoid legal problems in your business, which can create a complicated situation in your business.

           3. Keep Your Emails From Disturbing Content

If you don’t want your subscribers to report your emails as bad emails, which can result in their unsubscription, as well as bad consequences for your business, you have to make sure that each email that you send do not have any disturbing content in it. For instance, don’t insert any pornographic content in your emails, since it may result in an immediate termination of your mailing list account. Many popular email list providers don’t allow their users to send pornographic content to their subscribers. This is also true when you send other types of disturbing content, such as the images of violence, with blood and other inappropriate visuals.

What you have to remember is that you have to keep the content of your email relevant to your niche. Don’t send any out of topic emails that may make your subscribers to wonder whether the emails are truly sent by you, since the topic is not relevant to the topic that you usually write.
